There’s something about the espresso process that resists optimization. You can dial in the grind, measure the water temperature, and time the shot. Yet, it still comes out slightly different every morning.
I’ve come to appreciate that variance rather than fight it. The ritual isn’t about producing the perfect shot. It’s about the few minutes of focused attention before the day starts.
The best mornings are the ones where I focus on what the coffee actually tastes like.
